Hey, thanks for checking out my portfolio.
I am an origami artist based in California. I do a lot of stuff, but when I have free time, I like to design intricate origami models of anything. I usually like to pick a subject before I start designing. Whether it be from a TV show, a trip I'm taking, one of my other hobbies, or something I just came up with, I design origami with a purpose. I am fascinated by the art of origami because it creates art from nothing more than a piece of paper. From simply folding, you can create multi-colored models, multiple subjects in one piece of paper, or create different textures such as scales. These possibilities aren't possible without purposefully designing a model through the many geometric rules origami has. These rules are in place to guarantee a model can be flat-foldable. This is one of the many reasons why I love designing origami: the rules and restrictions make success that much more rewarding.
I also do boy scouting. I based my eagle project on trying to translate origami into the classroom. I provided diagrams, videos, and materials for my previous sixth-grade classroom. I also added foldscopes. The boxes to the left are hand-built to store all these items.
